If you want a really good hedge or screen plant this is your stick! This variety grows to about 10 to 12 feet in the northwest and has a yellow sulcus groove. In addition, the stalks (culms) grow in a zig zag pattern giving this variety an interesting presentation. It has good leaf structure top to bottom making this a great plant to use as a screen for a loud street, ugly neighbors house, or anything else you don’t want to look at day in and day out. An excellent utility plant for potting and using on a deck, or in the ground.
