Bamboo Removal

Bamboo has a mixed reputation. The inherent beauty and utility of the grass make it an attractive addition to most landscapes. Bamboo grows and spreads like most grasses. Left unchecked or sited out of ignorance they can create real problems. The only real solution to resolve an out of control stand of bamboo is to completely remove the plants.

Excavating bamboo is very difficult work. We have developed a successful method for permanent removal. We don’t use chemicals or other short term fixes. If you need help give us a call or e-mail and the Tallgrasses crew will get you a firm price to have the plants removed.

If you don’t want to make the call to TallGrasses and go through the expense of removal here are a few guidelines when planting bamboo:

  1. Select the appropriate plant for the application. There are a great deal of choices when selecting bamboo. Location, light, soil condition, and desired effect all play key rolls in having a “feature” or a problem.

  2. Do not plant bamboo directly on a fence line! Geez, I get a ton of calls from people who planted bamboo next to a fence and 5 years later it has pushed into the neighbors yard and enveloped the fence. If you want to use Bamboo for a privacy fence or a yard feature call TallGrasses and we will show you how to do it right.

  3. Small Lot? Use a Big Pot!! Bamboo is a fabulous plant and makes a very groovy addition to your deck, yard or balcony. Call or email us at TallGrasses to get you started.
